Things to Do:
There are several different art pieces throughout the ballpark by noted Northwest artists, and all are baseball inspired. One of the most popular is "The Defining Moment" - a stainless steel painted cut-out depicting the most famous play in Mariners history (Ken Griffey Jr's score to beat the Yankees in the 1995 ALDS) "The Mitt" is located outside the Left Field Entrance and is a large bronze sculpture of a catcher's mitt with a hole in the middle for pictures. The Mitt is a centrally located spot to meet up before or after the game.
For kids, Safeco Field offers a free Nintendo Fan Network for the Nintendo DS. The Network allows you to check other MLB scores and even order food and drink and have it delivered to your seat.
Food and Drink:
There are recent new additions to the concessions in the park, particularly at Bullpen Market (Field Level, Left-Center) so try to stop by and check out the vast assortment of stands. For seafood lovers, definitely stop by Ivar's (Sec 117 and 335, and a famous Seattle chain) and get some clam chowder during a chilly night game, or grab some sushi at section 136. You can get a value menu with ever-changing specials at sections 103, 105 and 319, and we especially like the beef gyros at section 340 (or you can get a veggie gyro as well.) For other vegetarian options, check out The Natural at Section 132.
Holy Smoke! BBQ (Sec 119 and 347) serves up a pretty good sliced brisket or pulled pork sandwich as well as BBQ Nachos.
Also try to check out Hit Here Cafe, where you'll find the "Seattle Dog" - an all beef hot dog with cream cheese on a pretzel bun, as well as a full bar. It's little pricey and seating can be limited on gamedays without a reservation (but only season ticket holders can make one).
In the mood for some delicious chocolate-covered fruit on a stick? Hit up Shiskaberry's (like a Shish Kabob) near Section 131 and 132.
We also really like the Bullpen Pub on the street level behind left field scoreboard. Beer plus views of the bullpen and the manually operated scoreboard from behind? Yes, please. Unfortunately, the best seats tend to go early, so plan ahead if you can.
