The Arena and Neighborhood:
Open since 1990, the Target Center is located on the edge of downtown Minneapolis, just next door to the Twins' Target Field. It's also near many great places to grab a meal or post game drink that are well within walking distance. You'll find that many of the bars and nightclubs in the area are geared toward a young 20-something crowd and often have a cover charge and bouncer at the front door, although there are some other options around as well if that's not your scene.
Getting There and Parking:
If you go by car, the park is fairly easy to get to - being right off I-394, I-94, and I-35. There is plenty of parking right around the stadium, but to avoid congestion, we suggest parking slightly further away. The A, B, and C ramps are the closet and right off I-394, and will run you around $12-$15.For more info on parking ramps, visit their site HERE.
You can find street parking for free or fairly cheap if park on the right side at the right time, especially on weekends. There are some 25 and 50 cent/hour meters on 12th Street as well as across the Mississippi in Old St. Anthony if you don't mind a little bit of a walk. There are also 75 cent/hour meters along Washington if you want to get a bit closer. We suggest arriving early and maybe staying to enjoy downtown Minneapolis post-game to avoid traffic.
Some establishments nearby participate in the "Do-the-Town Parking Program" where if you spend $20 or more, you get free parking at any participating ramp. (Kieran's Irish Pub on our exterior map is one of them.)
Public Transportation:
There's a light rail station jsut a block away (Warehouse District stop) and it's easy to park at the airport or Mall of America and take it right in. (Hiawatha line). It's also easy to access by bus and you don't have to pay the normal fare if you're riding just within the Downtown Zone, so be sure to tell the driver before you pay.
