Inside The Park:
While there may not be much history or nostalgic charm to the recently renovated Angel Stadium, it’s pretty clean as far as ballparks go and has a fairly open layout, which we love. There’s an outdoor courtyard when you walk through the turnstiles, and 2 large food courts within, one on the 1st base side and one on the 3rd base side, each with a small amount of outdoor seating. Also try to check out the picnic area in center field on the Terrace Level concourse.
Food and Drink:
The concessions inside have changed a bit since 2011 season. You have the same type of mediocre hot dogs as Dodger Stadium (although not called Dodger Dogs) and a few so-so chains like Jack in the Box and Panda Express. Clyde Wright's Tennesee BBQ at Gate 1 is pretty popular and a step above from the mediocre. The park has done away with sushi and Diablo's BBQ and instead added Chronic Tacos (Sec 24) and Signature Halo Barbacoa Nachos (multiple locations) which are worth checking out.
Also new to 2012: Street Tacos (Sec 259)
For different types of hot dogs, you'll find a huge variety at Major League Dogs (Sec 211 and 424). They offer up Chicago Dogs, New York Coney Chili Cheese Dogs, and Kansas City BBQ Dogs to name a few.
At Melissa's Harvest (one in each food court) you can find healthier items like a Veggie Dog, Black Bean Burger, Veggie Wrap, and Gluten Free Options.
There are a couple of lounges and restaurants inside, but they are limited to certain ticket holders, mainly club level season ticket holders and suite owners. The Knothole Club, an indoor and outdoor restaurant usually available to club level ticket holders, opens to the public in the 6th inning.
In centerfield you'll find a children’s concessions area serving things like PB&J and corndogs.
The beer prices are fairly low compared to other parks, and there’s a decent selection including Sapporo, Firestone, and Foster’s. Near Gate 2, you'll find a specialty craft beer stand. We also like the numerous Corona/Pacifico stands located throughout. You can also find a couple of El Jimador Tequila stands as well as a few Fetzer Vineyard stands selling California wines.
Seating:
Beware of some seats in the back of the field level – a low overhang blocks part of your view of the field.
