Things to Do:

On the north end of the ballpark is the Grand Entry Plaza a large entertainment/concessions area with two different pavilions filled with food and various activities. You almost forget you came to a baseball game when you see the circus that is Tooner Field (named after Cartoon Network). This might annoy some fans, as there are other distractions right when you enter, but if you have kids, they'll be thoroughly entertained.

For a little more baseball oriented entertainment - there's the Ivan Allen Jr Braves Hall of Fame Museum adjacent to the Plaza and the interactive Scouts Alley near the West Pavilion, with games like ones that test your hitting and throwing skills. There's also Monument Grove - a great outdoor meeting spot with plenty of trees, picnic tables, and statues of former players.

Food and Drink: 

For a sit-down restaurant open to all ticket holders - check out Braves Chop House in Center Field. It's a casual dining menu with a full bar upstairs as well as great views. 

In the West Pavilion, not only can you grab food from concessions at other ballparks at Taste of the Majors, but you'll also find a very unique Bison Dog offered only in Turner Field. Otherwise, food is pretty run of the mill inside, although there is a gluten-free stand as well as some veggie dogs scattered about. More good news: You can bring food inside.  So if you want to save some money, maybe head to Bullpen (the only restaurant within walking distance, look for it on our exterior map) grab some food to go, and bring it in, or enjoy it outside at Monument Grove. 

As for drinks, most places will only carry Bud or Miller in a can or on draft, but if you're on the mood for something else, go to Tomahawk Tavern (Sec 120,122,235). You can get brews like Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada, along with wine and a "Tomarita" (basically a frozen margarita).

There are All You Can Eat Seats too - available in the Golden Moon Casino Pavilion and the Outfield Pavilion near the Chop House. The Golden Moon seat are $65-75 and menu items include Chicken BBQ Sandwich, Buffalo Wings, All Beef Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Snacks, and Draft Beer. In the Outfield Pavilion, the AYCE menu includes Hamburgers, Veggie Burgers, Hot Dogs, Fries, and snacks and it's only $45-55.

The Park and Neighborhood:

Turner Field is rather large compared with some of the other more recent retro ballparks, and with all seats angled toward the infield, there aren't many bad seats in the park. There are a few unique things to check out at the park before game time, so be sure to read our "During the Game" information section.

The neighborhood, however, leaves something to be desired.  It isn't one of Atlanta's best and there aren't many restaurants within walking distance, although Underground Atlanta an historic downtown neighborhood, is about 2 miles away and is bustling with things to do. Or go a couple miles north to the Grant Park neighborhood where you'll find a few local Southern, Tex-Mex, or BBQ joints. No, you won't find many sports bars nearby, but there are some great restaurants in Grant Park if you want some local flavor. Getting There and Parking:

While surrounded by freeways, they often close exits and other streets on game days, so getting in and out can be quite difficult, and Atlanta traffic can be heavy. The Braves website will tell you to exit I-20W at Capitol Ave, I-20 E at Windsor St, and I-75.85 at Fulton Street, although you can always take the following exits to avoid some traffic and wait in much shorter lines. One insider tip is to exit Freedom Pkway off I-85.

Parking lots run by the stadium are generally $12 and tailgating is permitted. Getting in and out of those lots will be time consuming.  A lot of homeowners in the surrounding residences will charge you to park in their driveways, lots, or grass which is certainly one way to save some money. Most of these people are just trying to make a few extra bucks, so if you feel safe doing this, just remember to not leave valuables in your car and take your keys with you. You can also find street parking on the south side of the stadium. 

Public Transportation:

With limited cash lots immediately surrounding the field, one of our favorite options is to take the MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) to the game by traveling to the Five Points Station (off Forsyth between Marietta St NW and MLK Jr Dr SW) and boarding the MARTA Braves shuttle once there. The MARTA Braves Shuttle takes you directly to the field, starts 90 minutes prior to the game and continues until one hour after. After getting off at Five Points, follow signs to Steve Polk Plaza near Johnny Rockets. If you don't have a pass, it's $4.50 round trip and you pay upon boarding (have exact change)

The MARTA is a good choice if you want to stop somewhere for a drink, dining, or shopping after the game as Underground Atlanta, the historic neighborhood where the shuttle leaves from, has many options. Parking there is only $3 after 4pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends. Find the icon on our exterior map for more info on the area. Also, many Underground Atlanta merchants offer special deals to Braves fans who take the MARTA shuttle.
