The Arena and Neighborhood:
Open since 1999, the Philips Arena is just next door from The Georgia Dome and is located just west of downtown Atlanta and just east of the neighborhood known as Vine City. It's also next to the CNN Center at the corner of Marietta St and Centennial Olympic Park Drive.
According to stats from early 2010, the arena is located in the 5th worst violent crime area in the country, but on game day you probably shouldn't be too worried. The Vine City area is going through many renovations and is super close to downtown. Most of the bars or restaurants you'll want to hit up pre or post game will be to the East near Centennial Olympic Park (check our "Before & After the Game" map for more info).
Before the game, you may find yourself at Hawk Walk, Philips Arena's indoor street that connects it with MARTA, CNN Center, and the Congress Center. There you'll find a food court and retail stores with team gear and merchandise. Once you're at the arena, check out Philips Experience a huge area with hand-on activities like a miniature basketball.
Parking:
There are over 4,00 spots at the arena, and tickets can be purchased ahead of time for around $5-$15 at either TicketMaster or VividSeats. You can also reserve online from your computer or smart phone right through us and our affiliate Parkwhiz. Just look for the parking icons on our "Before & After the Game" map. The cheapest garage is usually Red Deck Parking at the Georgia World Deck Parking (look for GWCC Red Deck icon). We would avoid parking right at 1 Philips Drive as it can often be over $30.
There are some privately owned lots in the area up on Luckie Street as well as on Marietta Street.
Public Transportation:
The Dome-GWCC-CNN Metro Station and Vine City Station are both right near the stadium and is accessible on the Blue and Green Lines. There's plenty of parking at various MARTA stations, and many lots are free. The closest stations with parking are Ashby to the West or Inman Park/Reynoldstown Station to the East.
